This is it!

When Michael Jackson died I got sad to say the least. He was and still is one of my favourite artists and someone that I grew up with together with Madonna of course. On October 28 the movie “This Is It” will enter the movie theatres for two weeks only and hand in hand a record with the same name will of course join the ride.

12.00 Midnight Eastern time today a new song was released called, yes you guessed it, “This Is It“. It immediately became a trending topic on Twitter, fans shared the song by using the hashtag #ThisIsIt. The fact that the song was released on a #MusicMonday might even have been part of the plans… :) It did at least give him and his upcoming album a push I think. Someone even gave him the hashtag #MichaelMonday.

As always when it comes to sharing and consuming information online stuff that you probably wouldn’t have heard about if you weren’t on Twitter, Facebook or any of the other digital water-coolers, will rise to the surface. The Twitter handle @MJJNews brings back an old song that Michael Jackson and Paul Anka wrote back in the 90′s for Safire called “I never heard” and sure it does sound alike…

One thing is for sure though, I’ll be one of many people that will go and see the movie. I might even buy my first CD in a long time and the Jackson magic lives on.

What’s up with all these rap videos?

To rap your message has become the “new black”, sort of, at least it feels like a see a “rap-info-video” from time to time. That doesn’t mean they are always that good… But it’s still interesting. I wonder if this will be something we will see on TV in the future. Probably not… but who knows? :)

Actually this one from back in 2006 was showed on TV, local TV but still TV:

The new media rap’s from interactive marketing agency Pop Labs:

Going to Social Media rehab?

There’s been crazy lot of buzz about “social media” during 2009. Earlier this year I read about video game addiction camp and now it finally has arrived: “Social Media Addicts Association Meeting“. Well ok not really but I wouldn’t be surprised if something similar actually does appear pretty soon. How this will sell more of (you’ll see when you finish the video) is a bit weird though but I guess they rely on people like me writing about it…

Me posting this on my blog and then tweeting about it and making a comment on the video on Facebook where I found it probably makes me one of the upcoming attendees of such a association… “They try to make me go to rehab but I say NO NO NO“…

Thanks Anna Lundqvist for the tip! :)

Update: Ok I must say I really fell for this one big time. Apparently this Karen is an actress and the hole thing is a campaign from VisitDenmark.

Karen is a Danish girl that met a young man about 1,5 year ago. One thing led to another and today she has got a little baby boy. But, the young man wasn’t there when she woke up and she doesn’t remember that much from that special night. So what does she do? She puts up a video on Youtube seeking the father of her boy:

Earlier this spring another woman also decided to use Youtube to get her message out there:

I think it’s very interesting to see how people use video in other ways then just funny clips. Watching video online is something that still grows enormously and when more people also start making their own videos I definitely think we will see more interesting ways of how you can use video to reach a huge crowd and to get your message out there.

Help Karen in her attempt to find the farther of her son by sharing this blog post or retweet my tweet. Good luck Karen!
